Harold Hickman
Services for Harold V. Hickman, a University of Alaska Anchorage student, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with the Rev. Stan Alley officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mr. Hickman, 18, died Jan. 28 1987 in Anchorage.
Born Aug. 12, 1968, in Cheyenne, Wyo., he had lived in Alaska the past 16 years and was a 1986 Service High School graduate.
He leaves his parents, Ted and Maxine, his sister, Shelly, and his brother, Teddy Jr., all of Anchorage; his paternal grandmother, Thelma, of Cheyenne; and maternal grandmother, Sheila Rash of Denver, Colo.
Scott R. Stiller
Former Anchorage resident Scott Robert Stiller, 28, died May 11, 1996, while hunting near Juneau.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wed nes day at Rabbit Creek Community Church.
Mr. Stiller was born April 26, 1968, in Corvallis, Ore., and settled in Anchorage in 1976. He graduated from Service High in 1986 and Oregon State University in Corvallis with a business degree in 1990. He returned to Anchorage and started a career as a fire claim representative for State Farm Insurance.
In 1990, he married Elizabeth Dehlinger. After six months in Anchorage, they moved to Juneau in 1991. He was anticipating the arrival of his second child in October.
Mr. Stiller joined the company of Northern Adjusters in February 1996 and was also enjoying success in his recently established business, Frontier Custom Rod and Reel. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating.
His family said: ''Scott's vibrant enthusiasm and love for the Lord affected everyone around him. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He gave freely of himself and his time to anyone who needed a hand or a smile. On his 28th birthday last month, Scott returned from a Promise Keepers convention, where he rededicated himself to God, spouse and family. His desire was for everyone to share the love he felt for the Lord and to live each day to the fullest.''
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; and daughter Charcy, of Juneau; parents, Stacy and Jackie of Anchorage; grandmothers, Margaret Hutchinson and Reva Stiller of Oregon; sister, Carrie of California; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Anna of Anchorage; aunts and uncles, Roxce and Gerry Stavney of Washington, Marlyn and Janice of Anchorage, Korly and Vicki and Tris , of Oregon; seven cousins; parents-in-law, Charles and Barbara Dehlinger; and grandmother-in-law, Stella Dehlinger, all of Oregon; sister- and brother-in-law, Sarah and Dave Flesher of Idaho; one niece, two nephews; and his dog, Rex.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Elizabeth Stiller (Childrens' Trust) at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, 9101 Glacier Highway, Juneau 99801. Donations may also be sent to the Glacier Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 34365, Juneau 99003.
Robert Libbey, 36
Wasilla resident Robert John Libbey, 36, died May 1, 2005, in Anchorage.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Anchorage Funeral Home and Crematory, 1800 Dare Ave. The Rev. Chuck Eddy will officiate.
Mr. Libbey was born May 13, 1968, in Anchorage. He was a truck driver and a lodge owner.
"Bob was a special man who touched the hearts of all who knew him," his family said. "He was passionate in his love of family, friends and the beautiful state of Alaska. He will be greatly missed by all who came to know him."
He is survived by his wife, Beth of Wasilla; stepdaughter, Jessica Lockwood of St. Louis; parents, Robert and Karol Libbey of Anchorage; brother, Dan Libbey of Anchorage; sisters, Beth Theisen of Palmer, Carol Schacht of Anchorage, and Kathy Dotten of Anchorage; many nieces and nephews; dogs, Rowdy and Stetson; cat, Rambo; and his horses, known collectively as "The Boys."
